  • Fortune Wings Club’s elite status is valid from the day of upgrade to the end of the following month in the following year. For example, if a member’s card is upgraded to a Platinum Card on July 1, 2016, then the validity period of status is from July 1, 2016 – August 31, 2017, a maximum of 14 months.   • What is FFP?

    FFP stands for Frequent Flyer Program. Passengers who are members of an airlines’ FFP can earn points by taking flights operated by that airline or its partner airlines. When a member has accrued a certain amount of points, award tickets and upgrades will be offered. In such a way, the airlines can maintain or increase their customer base and revenue, further boosting their competitiveness.

    Who are Fortune Wings Club’s member airlines?

    Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air, Tianjin Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Lucky Air, Capital Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Suparna Airlines and GX Airlines.

    Is there any age restriction for joining Fortune Wings Club?

    Passengers who are at least two years old can join for free.

    How can I apply for membership?

    You can apply for membership by:

    1. Registering on the Fortune Wings Club website or the Hainan Airlines website.

    2. Registering on Hainan Airlines app.

    3. Calling Fortune Wings Club’s member service hotline: (86-898) 950717 or Hainan Airlines’ 24-hour booking hotline: (86-898) 95339.

    4. At direct ticketing offices or on the flights of Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air, Tianjin Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Lucky Air, Capital Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Suparna Airlines and GX Airlines, You can obtain and complete a paper application to join FWC. Once registration is successful, you may begin earning and redeeming points with your membership number.

    What should I know when applying for membership online or offline?

    The application form can only be filled in Chinese or English. Your name, gender, date of birth, valid ID type and number, and phone number are mandatory. If your address is in China (except for Hong Kong), it must be written in Chinese.

    For points to be correctly accumulated into your account, please make sure that the name registered online or in the application form is the same as that on your ID and ticket. Please always provide your detailed address, mobile number, and email address. This is to ensure that you can correctly and promptly receive text messages and emails sent by the Fortune Wings Club informing you on the status of your account.

    How do I obtain my default password upon joining?How do I change that password?

    Mandatory items must be filled in correctly. If you receive the notice that certification was already used by other member during register, that means you have already registered, you can mail to ffp@hnair.com or call (896-898)950717 to verify your account information and reset your login password.

    Is it free to join the Fortune Wings Club?

    Yes, it is free to join the Fortune Wings Club.

    Can Fortune Wings Club accounts be combined or transferred?

    No.

    Can points from different accounts be combined or transferred?

    No, points from different accounts cannot be combined or transferred.

    If members are found to abuse the terms and conditions of their Fortune Wings Club points, such as selling or trading points, or submitting false information such as flight records, the Fortune Wings Club reserves the right to forfeit award points, request compensation from members, and cancel their memberships without informing the members. Such Members will be requested to pay for the full-fare or sub-fare of the business or economy class ticket they have used, in addition to related legal fees. Furthermore, Hainan Airlines reserves the right to refuse future membership applications from such members.

    How do I use my Fortune Wings Club points?

    You can redeem hundreds of rewards such as award tickets and upgrades for yourself or your friends and families when you have enough points in your account for the redemption. You may also convert your Fortune Wings Club points into points in our partners’ programs, or donate the points for charity.

    Can Fortune Wings Club points be converted into cash?

    No.

  • Can I edit beneficiaries once I added them?

    1. Once a beneficiary is added, any information other than their name can be edited.
    2. When you visit a direct ticketing office of one of Fortune Wings Club’s member airlines or a Fortune Wings Club’s airport service zone, you must provide your valid original ID documents, and the photocopies or scanned copies of both your beneficiary's old and new ID documents. The edited information will be effective 30 days after the day of successful application. If you are using a representative, the representative’s valid original ID documents are required as well.

    When does deleting a beneficiary take effect? Will my Fortune Wings points be deducted?

    It would take effect at once when applying for deleting designees. If the desinees have ever been deleted our of the list, it would take 30 days for re-adding them in.

    How many beneficiaries can I add?

    A maximum of 10 beneficiaries can be added by one member. Companies, organizations, or groups cannot be set as beneficiaries.

    When will the new list of beneficiaries become effective?

    The application about adjusting members or ID of the redemption nominees would take effect in 30 days.

    Will my points be deducted when I add beneficiaries?

    No.

    How do I create an award ticket beneficiary list?

    1. You can log in to the Fortune Wings Club website or Hainan Airlines app to add your beneficiary.
    2. You can provide us with the names and valid ID numbers of the beneficiaries through email at FFP@HNAIR.COM.
    3. You can call the member service hotline: (86-898) 950717 to add a beneficiary.
    4. You can visit a ticketing office of any member airline of the Fortune Wings Club’s, or a Fortune Wings Club’s airport service zone with both your and your beneficiaries’ valid original ID documents.

    The flight beneficiary rules of Fortune Wings Club were formally implemented on February 8, 2012.

    Can I earn points from the flights my beneficiary has taken?

    No, the Fortune Wings Club account is personal and you can only earn points from your own activity.

    What is the beneficiary of flight awards?

    The flight award beneficiary refers to persons designated by the member who may enjoy award tickets or upgrades redeemed with the member’s points.

    What’s the time limit for points retro-crediting?

    The Fortune Wings Club will handle your retro-crediting request as soon as possible, so please promptly check your account for changes of your points.   • When do I start earning points?

    From the day you become a Fortune Wings Club member, you can start earning points, subject to the Fortune Wings Club's terms and conditions, by flying on Fortune Wings Club member airlines flights and partner airlines flights, or making purchases at Fortune Wings Club’s non-air partners’.

    Can points be accumulated to two frequent flyer programs at the same time when I fly with partner airlines?

    No, points from the same flight can only be accumulated to one frequent flyer award program when you fly with a partner airline.

    In general, how long will it take for points to be posted to my account for transactions with a non-airline partner?

    The points earned from non-airline partners are generally credited within 1-2 months. Please retain your paid invoices until points earned are properly credited. Please call our service hotline: (86-898) 950717 for inquiry if the points are not posted within a specified time.

    What can I do if my points are not accumulated to my account within the specified time?

    Which points will count towards maintaining or upgrading membership status?

    Only Status Qualifying Points (SQPs) and Status Qualifying Segments(SQSs) count towards maintaining or upgrading membership levels. Points earned through promotions, additional rewards, or from purchases with non-airline partners, do not affect your membership status.

    What if my Fortune Wings Club points are about to expire?

    1. You can request points retro-crediting within 180 days from the next day of your flight or from the date when purchase is made with a non-airline partner.

    2. If you have new travel plans in the near future, you can request points retro-crediting for your flight before your points expire.

    3. You can redeem ticket, upgrade or other commodity by using your points to extend the expiration date of your points.

    4. Before your points get expired, you can deposit points earned from a partner company (such as points converted from the partner's program) into your Fortune Wings Club account to extend the expiration date of your points .

    From which banks can I apply for an airlines co-branded credit card?

    Here are the options:

    Hainan Airlines co-branded credit cards issued by: Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, CTBC Bank, China Minsheng Bank, China Construction Bank, Bank of China and HuaXia Bank.

    What kind of purchases are excluded from earning points with an airlines co-branded credit card?

    Based on bank regulations, points cannot be earned on purchases of properties, vehicles , wholesale products, charity, or other business transactions. Please go to the official website of the corresponding banks for details.

  • What is the maximum for buying or gifting points?
    You can buy or gift up to 60,000 points in a single transaction. The total points a single account can obtain via “buy, gift, or transfer points” in a calendar year cannot exceed 80,000 points.
    Can I gift my points to friends directly from my account? Does the recipient have to be a Fortune Wings Club member?
    The member cannot directly gift points from their account. To gift points, the points must be separately purchased, and the recipient must be a member of the Fortune Wings Club.
    How long will it take for purchased or gifted points to be posted?

    The bought or gifted points will be posted to a designated Fortune Wings Club account within 24 hours after successful transaction.

    Is there any limit for redemption with bought or gifted points?

    The bought or gifted points can be used for redeeming all awards of Fortune Wings Club.

    Can bought or gifted points be used for maintaining or upgrading membership status?

    Purchased or gifted points cannot be used for maintaining or upgrading membership status.

    Can purchased points be refunded?

    Purchased points are non-refundable.

    Which methods of payment are supported when buying points?

    Payment for points purchase must be made with international credit cards in US dollars. If the payment is made with non-international credit cards, extra processing fees may be charged by the issuing bank. Please contact your issuing bank for more details.

    Yes.

    1. From February 8, 2012, air travel (award tickets or upgrades) redeemed by a member can only be used by the member and their designated valid beneficiaries.

    2. The restriction above does not apply to non-flight award redemptions; however, all consequences from transfer are borne by the member.

    Can award tickets or upgrades be used for people other than the member?

    From February 8, 2012, flight awards (award tickets or upgrades) redeemed by a member can be used by only the member and designated valid beneficiaries. All you have to do is to fill in the beneficiary’s name and ID number when redeeming for an award ticket.

    What are the redemption standards of an award ticket or upgrades for children or infants?

    From January 1, 2011, the redemption standards of award ticket or upgrade for children or infants are the same as adults.

    On which airlines can I redeem for an award ticket?

    You can redeem your points for flights operated by Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air, Tianjin Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Lucky Air, Capital Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Suparna Airlines, GX Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Virgin Australia and Etihad Airways.

    What limits is award ticket redemption subject to?

    1. Ticket redemption is only applied to flights operated by Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air, Tianjin Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Lucky Air, Capital Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Suparna Airlines, GX Airlines, Virgin Australia , Alaska Airlines, and Etihad Airway, excluding private flights, some charter flights and code-share flights.

    2. For award ticket redemption, the route, flight, date, and class must be determined.

    3. Award tickets are valid for one year from the date of travel. If none of the tickets are used, they are deemed as open tickets and are valid for one year from the date of ticketing. Modified award ticket has the same period of validity as the original one. Expired tickets are invalid, and points used for redemption and the cash paid for the "Points +Cash" option will not be refunded

    4. Once your award travel is booked, the passenger’s name and flight segments on your itinerary can not be modified. Transfers to another airline are also not allowed.

    5. Advanced seat selection is not available for award tickets.

    How long is the award ticket valid for?

    Unless otherwise stated, award tickets are valid for one year from the date of travel. If none of the tickets are used, they are deemed as open tickets and are valid for one year from the date of ticketing. Modified award ticket has the same period of validity as the original one. Expired tickets are invalid, and points used for redemption and the cash paid for the "Points +Cash" option will not be refunded.

    Are changes or cancellations allowed for award tickets?

    1. For valid Fortune Classic Award tickets, changes to date and flight are permitted prior to departure. Award tickets will be void after flight departure, and the points deducted or cash fare as part of a “Points + Cash” transaction will not be refunded. In addition, any changes to award tickets can only be made within the same cabin class. For voluntary cancellation of Fortune Classic Award tickets, the points deducted are nonrefundable, but taxes and other charges paid on unused segments will be refunded(requests need to be made within the ticket's validity period for international and regional flights). Other travel conditions are the same as non-award tickets.

    2. For voluntary changes and cancellation of Fortune Flex Award tickets, handling fees will be charged based on published ticket price and airlines’ policies.

    What are “voluntary” and “involuntary” changes or cancellations?

    A “voluntary” change or cancellation of a redeemed award ticket is requested by the member, due to personal reasons. An “involuntary” change or cancellation of a redeemed award ticket is caused by flight irregularities such as airline operations, weather, air traffic control, etc.

    What’s the handling fee for “voluntary” changes of a redeemed award ticket?

    1. Fortune Classic Award tickets: For domestic flights, a service fee of 100 RMB(or equivalent foreign currency) per person per ticket is required. For regional or international flights, the fee is 200 RMB(or equivalent foreign currency) per person per time. Platinum Card, Gold Card and Silver Card members can change award tickets free of charge with a valid membership. 2. Fortune Flex Award tickets: For voluntary changes and cancellation of Fortune Flex Award tickets, handling fees will be charged based on published ticket price and airline’s policies. The detailed fee amounts are subject to flexible cabin class management rules of Hainan Airlines and Grand China Air for domestic flights.

    Will handling fees be charged for “involuntary” changes or cancellation of a redeemed award ticket due to airlines’ operations?

    No. In the event of involuntary changes caused by airlines operations, passengers can contact FWC customer service or the original ticketing offices for a free change or cancellation of a valid award ticket within 30 days after the departure date, including points, taxes, cash paid for “points+cash” option and other related fees. Expired tickets are invalid, points used for redemption and the cash paid for the "Points +Cash" option will not be refunded.

    Which airlines and fare classes are eligible for award upgrades? How are the earned points calculated on the upgraded flight?

    Tickets upgraded with awards points will accrue points based on the original purchased fare class.

    Can award tickets/upgrades enjoy multiple promotions at the same time?

    When multiple promotions are offered for award ticket/upgrade redemption, only the most discounted offer will be applied.

    Can I upgrade an award ticket?
