II. Redemption rules
  • 1To redeem a Fortune Flex Award, the flight must be marketed and operated by Hainan Airlines/ Grand China Air/ Lucky Air/ Tianjin Airlines/ Capital Airlines/ Fuzhou Airlines/ Suparna Airlines/ Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines.
  • 2Fortune Flex Award are not applicable on private flights, charter flights and codeshare flights.
  • 3Unless otherwise stated, Fortune Flex Award tickets are valid for use for one year from the date of travel. If none of the tickets are used, they are deemed as open tickets and are valid for one year from the date of ticketing. Modified award ticket has the same period of validity as the original one. When tickets expire, they are void and the points are not refundable.
  • 4Infants and children are not eligible for Fortune Flex Award and can only redeem Fortune Classic Award.
  • 5When multiple promotions are offered for award ticket redemption, only the most discounted offer will be applied.  
  • 6Fortune Flex Award is eligible for cabin upgrades with cash or points.
  • 7Once your award travel is booked, the passenger’s name and flight segments on your itinerary can not be modified (Change of flight segments is allowed for certain international/regional Fortune Flex Award tickets). Passengers must fly the segments listed on the ticket in sequence, or the points of unflown segments will not be refunded.
  • 8Fortune Flex Award tickets cannot be reissued if lost.
  • 9Passengers should pay for the departure tax, airport construction fee (ACF) or government handling fees, fuel surcharges, security and insurance charges and any other fees charged by any authorized entity. Passengers should also be responsible for all other expenses and any other charges, claims or liabilities that come from using Fortune Flex Award tickets.
  • 10For special services on domestic Fortune Flex Award flights, which is not applicable to passengers on unaccompanied minors, stretchers or prisoners, members should follow airline policies and pay an additional fee to cover the extra handling. Special services are not applicable on international/ regional Fortune Flex Award flights.
  • 11Other redemption rules are subject to actual consultation.
Ⅲ. Cancellation and Change rules
  • 1For voluntary changes and refund of Fortune Flex Award tickets, handling fees will be charged based on published ticket price and airline’s cabin class management rules.
    (1) Applies to domestic Fortune Flex Award tickets, requests for changes or refunds will be charged handing fee in cash and credited back in the original form of payment(Free ticket refund and changes for elite members are not applicable to Fortune Flex Award)
    (2) Applies to international/ regional Fortune Flex Award tickets, requests for changes or refunds will be charged tax fee or/and FWC points and credited back in the original form of payment or/and your Fortune Wings Club account.
  • 2In the event of involuntary changes caused by irregular operations, passengers can contact FWC customer service or the original ticketing offices for free change or cancellation of a valid award ticket. All refunds will be issued in the original form of payment including points and cash paid for taxes and points+cash transaction. Expired tickets are invalid, and the deducted points are not refundable.

  • 4Both Fortune Classic Award and Fortune Flex Award tickets cannot be transferred to other airlines voluntarily.

I. Award points additional information:
  • 1Award points earned by flights including base points, status bonus points and promotion bonus points. Award points can be used to redeem award tickets, cabin upgrades and award items.
  • 2Out of the total ticket price, the eligible spend can be used to calculate award points. Eligible spend includes base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges paid for your ticket, such as fuel surcharges. Government-imposed taxes and fees, such as a transportation tax, carrier-imposed fees for other products or services will not be awarded points, including but not limited to the following: ticket change fees, excess baggage fees, seat selection payments, upgrade payments, in-flight food and beverage purchases and service charges.   • 3The implementation of the new fare-based point calculation method is based on the passenger's flight date. For instance, if a passenger purchases a flight ticket before July 1, 2017, and the departure date is after July 1, 2017 (inclusive), points will be awarded based on eligible spend and the membership status.
  • 4Members can earn award points when taking all regular “HU”/ “CN”/ “GS”/ “8L”/ “JD”/ “FU”/ “Y8” or “GX” flights operated by Hainan Airlines/ Grand China Air/ Tianjin Airlines/ Lucky Air/ Capital Airlines/ Fuzhou Airlines/ Suparna Airlines or Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines.
  • 5Flights operated by Hong Kong Airlines and other partner airlines, such as Virgin Australia, Alaska Airlines and Etihad Airways, will continue to earn award points based on flight distance and fare class.
  • 6The Fortune Wings Club uses the Chinese Yuan (RMB) when calculating the amount of points to be awarded. If passengers purchase a ticket in a different currency, the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges will be converted to RMB and this amount will be awarded to members as points. The conversion rate of eligible spend will be based on the IATA rate on which the ticket was issued.
  • 7The Fortune Wings Club treats 10 RMB as the minimum unit used when calculating award points. Therefore, portions of the eligible spend that are less than 10 RMB will be treated as 10 RMB. However, if portions of the eligible spend are less than 1 RMB, the system will round the eligible spend down to the nearest 10 RMB increment.
    Sample Calculation: If a passenger flies a round-trip flight from Beijing to Tokyo, the eligible spend is 5,262 RMB. Therefore, the spend of one way, which is 2,631 RMB, will be treated as 2,640 RMB to calculate award points. But, if the passenger takes the same flight and the eligible spend of the one-way ticket is 2,630.50 RMB. The system will treat it as 2,630 RMB to calculate award points.
  • 8Certain specialty tickets will earn award points based on flight distance and fare class. Specific award point accrual standards are based on valid regulations at the time of product purchase.
  • 9Award points will not be accumulated in the following situations:
    (1) Taking special flights, charter flights or code-sharing flights.
    (2) Taking flights not operated by the Fortune Wings Club’ s member airlines or its partners.
    (3) Taking flights prior to registering as a member of the Fortune Wings Club.
    (4) Free tickets.
    (5) Group tickets.
    (6) Other tickets that any of the affiliate member airlines of the Fortune Wings Club have specified are not eligible to earn award points.
  • 10Rules for calculating award points with interline tickets:
    (1) An interline ticket refers to a flight ticket that includes two or more flight segments on more than one airline.
    (2) Points for segments operated by Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air, Tianjin Airlines, Lucky Air, Capital Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Suparna Airlines, Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines and with the code “HU,” “CN,” “GS,” “8L,” “JD,” “FU,” “Y8” or “GX” in the interline ticket will be awarded based on eligible spend and membership status. Points for segments operated by Hong Kong Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Etihad Airways, Virgin Australia and with the code “HX,” “AS,” “EY” or “VA” in the interline ticket will be awarded based on flight distance and fare class.
    (3) If the segment which be awarded points based on eligible spend does not specify eligible spend of this segments, the eligible spend will be calculated based on the percentage of the flight distance of this segment out of the total flight distance, which will then be multiplied by the total eligible spend of the ticket including all segments.
    Sample Calculation: If you take interline flights operated by Hong Kong Airlines and Hainan Airlines from Hong Kong to Tel Aviv, transiting in Beijing, points for segment of Hong Kong to Beijing will be awarded based on flight distance and fare class. Points for segment of Beijing to Tel Aviv will be awarded based on the eligible spend of this segment, which be calculated based on the percentage of the flight distance of Beijing to Tel Aviv’s segment out of the total flight distance, which will then be multiplied by the total eligible spend of the ticket including all segments.
  • 11Members can earn up to 75,000 award points per ticket, including any membership status bonus points and excluding bonuses from applicable promotions.
  • 12Starting July 1, 2017, the previous 25% and 50% additional bonus points given to elite members will be replaced by the "Status Bonus" under the new calculation method.
II. Award points additional information:
  • 1Status Qualifying Points (SQPs) represent a percentage of the actual miles flown (including applicable minimum mileage guarantees) based on Fortune Wings Club member airlines or partner airlines and the booking code purchased.
  • 2Status Qualifying Segments(SQSs) are segments you earn on eligible purchased tickets for flights on affiliate member airlines or partner airlines of the Fortune Wings Club.
  • 3SQPs and SQSs are only used to determine membership status, not redemption.
  • 4The implementation of the new fare-based point calculation method only applies for award points, not SQPs or SQSs. They will continue to be calculated based on flight distance and fare class.

Let’s say a passenger flies in business class (class I) on a round-trip flight from Beijing to Tokyo, operated by Hainan Airlines. If the base price of the ticket is 4,480 RMB, the carrier-imposed surcharges are 778 RMB and the flight distance is 2,113 kilometers.
